Nintendogs is a hoot!

Published by jaseone under Video Games

I haven’t had a chance to play it much yet as we had to unprepare everything after Hurricane Rita plus well I have two real live dogs so I can’t very well sit there and play with a virtual one instead can I? I must say though it is an ingenious [tag]video game[/tag], the voice recognition is great but I swear your dog ignores you from time to time just like a real dog!

The niftiest thing so far though has to be the bubble blowing, you get one of those bubble blowing wands you know the type you dip into detergent/water and then blow bubbles, took me a while to work out that the way you blow bubbles was to actually blow on the microphone, what a stroke of genious!

Musings on the Sony PSP

Published by jaseone under Video Games

It is sad that the main things getting press for the PSP are Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City, yet another remake of GTA and the homebrew scene and Sony would also like us to believe that UMD movies are the best thing since sliced bread.

WOOHOO another GTA, woopty friggin do!

Homebrew? Sure there will probably be some good homebrew games but will they really ever take advantage of the PSP hardware? Why in the heck would I want a GBA emulator for my PSP?

UMD movies? A lot of them are more expensive than the DVD, WTF?

I’m thinking I might pick up a Gameboy Micro to go with my PSP and DS as both of those don’t get much use as they aren’t pocketable, however the DS will see some use soon with Advance Wars DS and the other cool titles coming out soon for it.

Up the Swannies!

Published by jaseone under Sport

My beloved Sydney Swans have gotten up in the AFL Grand Final, winning by a mere four points, taking it right down to the wire! At least I can wear my FedEx’d jersey and hat that should be waiting for me back in Houston with pride when I get back!

I’m safe!

Published by jaseone under Life

Megan and I headed out of Houston at 6am this morning and made the mistake of getting on I-45 North to goto her parent’s place in Dallas to escape Hurricane Rita, well 17.5 hours later we make it a little over 30 miles (yes THIRTY!!!) and are now staying with some of her family in The Woodlands, which should be pretty safe from Hurricane Rita so we are just going to hang here to see what happens.

OMG Slashdot is slashdotted, that combined with Hurricane Rita heading this way is a sure sign of impending doom!

Or maybe they are just finally applying the CSS layout…

Houston AFL Grand Final Party moved to Dallas

Published by jaseone under Information Technology, Sport

Due to Hurricane Rita us Aussies are high tailing it out of Houston first thing tomorrow and plan on joining the Dallas party, details are here.

Unfortunately the Sydney Swans jersey and hat I worked hard to get here in time will probably make it to Houston in time but I will not be here to receive it. :(

FedEx vs. Rita

Published by jaseone under Hurricane Rita

In the red corner fighting out of Sydney, Australia we have Fed “We have your Sydney Swans supporter gear” Ex and in the blue corner hailing from the Gulf of Mexico we have Hurricane “I’m going to spoil all of your AFL Grand Final plans” Rita.

Ladies and gentlemen… Let’s get ready to ruuummmblllleee!

I hope FedEx knows where Huston, TX is

Published by jaseone under Life, Sport

I just realized that the destination for my package containing my Sydney Swans hat & jersey for Friday night’s AFL Grand Final has it’s destination as HUSTON, TX, hopefully they are smart enough to realize that should be HOUSTON, TX and get the package here in time otherwise I will be one unhappy camper!
