My new wheels

Published by jaseone under MobLog

As a Christmas present to myself I finally got myself a new bike, a Giant Yukon 2005. It had the best components within my price range and felt better than the other bike I tried so it just had to come home with me!

Why a mountain bike when I am training for the MS 150 you ask? Well I am a mountain biker at heart and can’t afford a decent road bike right now so I thought I would get the MTB now, train on it and then sometime prior to the MS 150 I would also get a road bike so I would be competitive on the road but still have my MTB when I want to go off road.

Let me tell you though all of my bikes are now being kept inside without any exceptions as I have just had too many of my bikes stolen in the past, the last was chained to a second floor balcony and for that to get stolen is a real worry!

Great seats, crappy game!

Published by jaseone under MobLog

As a Christmas present to Megan and myself I bought tickets to the Dallas Stars v. Detroit Redwings game in Dallas a couple of days after Christmas. We were third row close to center ice & the Stars bench, which was great but the hockey game pretty much sucked.

It wasn’t because the Stars got a beating, it was just a very poorly played game of hockey. It may still be the holiday season but those guys are professionals and get paid big bucks to perform so that is no excuse!

The announcer and the crowd sucked as well, there wasn’t a single Stars chant, which is just sad! The announcer didn’t even announce power plays nor did they announce when a team returned to full strength so there was no “… and they still suck!”, WTF is up with that?

I am going to have to take Megan to a minor league Houston Aeros game so she can see some real hockey as that display last night was just pathetic!

Sponsor me for the 2006 BP MS 150 Bike Tour

Published by jaseone under Sport

[tag]MS150[/tag][tag]cycling[/tag]I am using some forced motivation to get me back into shape and have entered myself in the 2006 MS 150 Bike tour, which is a “two-day cycling adventure from Houston to Austin that raises funds to help people living with Multiple Sclerosis.” As part of the tour each rider has to raise a minimum of $400 in donations so if you would like to help me meet that goal then please click here and make a donation.

I used to do a lot of mountain bike riding back in the day and was quite competitive so I am hoping to do quite well!

Randal is an over-educated pompous ass!

Five degrees? Like really who on the earth needs five degrees? Five degrees to work for a consulting company so you can charge rediculous fees to tell companies things they already know?

It really was rude of him for him to use that whole “I believe The Apprentice is about *The* Apprentice, meaning there should only be one” speech that was out and out gloating, I would have taken offence to that if I was Trump and probably would have fired him then and there.

Hats off to you Rebecca, I think you can actually do better for yourself outside of the Trump organization anyway, like who really wants to work for Trump anyway? I’d love to be like an architecture firm hired by him but I don’t think I could actually stand working for him.

Typoforums.org - A new project

Published by jaseone under Information Technology

[tag]Typo[/tag]On the Typo mailing list there was a need identified to have some user support forums, this need was debated for a while and it ultimately got to the stage of someone just needing to implement such a forum so Typo User Support Forums is the result.

The only problem is that there was also another project going onto do the same thing at Typoforums.com so at the moment there are two sets of forums available, which isn’t an ideal situation by any means so I have put it to the Typo community to decide on one. In the meantime I just thought I’d put it out there, so if you are interested in an alternate blogging platform then please check out Typo and the Typo User Support Forums.
