Finally doing a svn co of the KDE www module

Published by jaseone under KDE.org

After too long away from kde-www and general webmastering duties on kde.org I am finally performing a SVN checkout to enable me to get back into the thick of it by making changes and applying fixes.

Getting back into the Linux + KDE thing

Well times of late my itch has been acting up again so it is again time to get my feet wet with Linux on my trusty old Toshiba Satellite, I’ve already gone through and emerged Gentoo up to the latest & greatest and now I am just compiling a new kernel.

Once you get things up and running it is actually quite usable and enables me to do a lot that I can’t do on Windows and even some things I can’t do in my beloved OSX.

I’m also thinking it’s about time I stepped up to the mark and started being active with KDE.org development so I’ll be getting into that again real soon now!

wiki.kde.org successfully moved

Published by jaseone under KDE.org

I recently donated some web hosting to give wiki.kde.org a new home and Luci, the site’s administrator has just finished transferring everything across and now we are just waiting for the DNS to update.

Kudos to Luci for getting the transfer done without a hitch and for Navindra for providing the previous hosting and assisting the move from the dot.kde.org server.

Hopefully the new web host will provide better uptime and performance as it won’t be competing for bandwidth/CPU cycles with the Dot, if all goes well then if other *.kde.org sites require assistance with hosting I can look at donating for them as well. On that topic if anyone is looking for assistance then please let me know.
