Grizzly sized catfish caught in Thailand

Fishermen in northern Thailand have netted a fish as big as a grizzly bear, a 646-pound Mekong giant catfish, the heaviest recorded since Thai officials started keeping records in 1981. The behemoth was caught in the Mekong River and may be the largest freshwater fish ever found.

It is sad that they managed to negotiate it’s release but it died beforehand, what is it about the human race that makes us want to dominate everything on the planet? That fish was probably much older than any living person yet we must hunt it so we can get our names in the record books. Don’t get me wrong I’m no vegan and in fact love my meat but I think hunting down a creature like that and especially not letting it go immediately is cruel and quite representative of what is wrong with the human race.
